Melanee Short
Director, Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering and Technical Services Sanofi
Melanee Short is a passionate sustainability leader who has been developing and implementing environmental projects for more than 20 years. A Professional Engineer, she has worked across several industries to identify sources of environmental impacts and develop solutions to address those impacts. Since joining Sanofi in 2007, she has worked in various roles at the site, regional and global level to reduce energy and water consumption, manage waste and support biodiversity. In her current role at the Toronto Vaccines site, Melanee leads the Sustainable Infrastructure group and is responsible for two major infrastructure projects that will facilitate sustainable vaccine production: A site-wide Wastewater treatment and Reuse facility to be commissioned in 2024 that will reduce water consumption by more than 20% and the Site’s Energy Master Plan that will support Sanofi’s ambitious targets of Carbon neutrality by 2030 and net zero by 2050.
